Photo Sunday: Childhood memories

Happy New Year! I hope 2016 is off to a great start for everyone.

Today’s Photo Sunday was inspired by a conversation with some friends this afternoon, when we found ourselves reminiscing about our childhood teddies. And it just so happens I still have mine…

I don’t actually know how old these two are; I’ve had them for as long as I can remember – which makes them at least thirty years old – and I don’t have any plans to get rid of them any time soon. The wizard costume is one that my mum made for a teddy bear’s picnic at nursery school (I think?); he used to have a hat as well but unfortunately that bit got lost somewhere along the way.

And then there’s Gordon the Gopher, who’s also been around for a long time. Over the years, he’s lost his squeak and quite a lot of his stuffing, not to mention had champagne sprayed all over him, but those misfortunes aside, I think he’s still in pretty good condition considering his great age 🙂

What was your favourite childhood toy? Do you still have it?

  1. Awesome post.. I have a small teddy bear my older sister brought back for me from Sleeping Bear Dunes when I was 4. He had a name but I can’t remember it.. Still have him, packed away.

    1. I can’t remember my teddies’ names either! I’ve had them so long now that I can’t imagine ever getting rid of them, wherever I go they’re coming with me!

  2. I have some sad stories about my teddies – mishaps and overseas moves but I DO have a little green good luck Care Bear that my mum gave me for my end of primary school exams.

    1. Aww! That’s cute 🙂 Sorry about your sad stories though. I guess it’s harder to hold on to things when you make a big move like that.

    1. That makes sense! Glad to hear you still him. Mine don’t have names (except Gordon, obviously), although I think they may have done at some point in the past.
