Every year, Father’s Day coincides with my birthday week, so on the Sunday we always get together and do something as a family to celebrate the two. This year, after much deliberating (neither I nor Dad are good at decisions, and in the end Mum had to help us out), we decided to go and explore the Olympic Park in Stratford – now the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park – and see how it’s changed since 2012.
It was a very different atmosphere today to the last time we were at the Park, shuffling along with thousands of others heading towards the stadium. But while we didn’t have the excitement of an event to look forward to, it was nice to take our time and have a walk along the river, seeing the familiar buildings in a setting that’s changed a lot since the Games three years ago. And of course, I had my new camera with me… 🙂
